This is a great question and certainly a confusing one!
Here is our best attempt to compare the two. Please reach out if anything is unclear!
Similarity:
In BOTH cases, you are required to apply for the position.
Your submission will be reviewed and we will write to you after the selection.
Difference:
'Residency Artist + Lecturer'
They are residency artists who's submitted ACADEMY lecture plan has been selected. This means that they will not only work on their own work, but will offer lectures to participants of the ACADEMY master-class.
Hence, their expenses are FULLY covered by us.
We cover the airfare, accommodation, meals, materials, outdoor activities, etc.
'Residency Artist (NO lecture)'
They are residency artists who were selected as well, but not to give lectures.
This means that they will work on their own work, while attending master-classes if they choose to, create connections, and more.
Hence, their expenses are NOT fully covered by us.
However, as selected and invited residency artists, your fee is significantly lower than ACADEMY participants and we provide 50% discount for outdoor activities only for the residency artists.
There are many more benefits that needs to covered, such as the guarantee to be invited to participate in the 13th H.I.C.F (2026)!!
