Residency Artist

International Artist Residency Program

1. Duration: 1~3 months (selectable)

***Please include your desired duration of stay in the motivation letter

Option 1:

If selected as a Residency Artist & Lecturer

2. Program Operation & Participation Terms:

Participating artists will create artworks
Offer master-class lecture
- Lecture fee will be provided when conducting class with 10-15 participants

(If selected, you will decorate and personalize the room of stay as an artist room at the Harmony Art Village)

Artists may take home 1~3 pieces or one set of their fired works; shipping costs are the artists' responsibility
For artworks sold at the Harmony Art Shop / Exhibitions:

- Revenue split is 60:40 (Harmony:Artist) for works created during the residency

- Revenue split is 40:60 (Harmony:Artist) for pre-existing works brought by the artist

3. Support & Benefit

Everything will be supported, NO participation fee:
- Including airfare, accommodation, meals, materials needed for artwork production, outdoor activities and will be included in exhibitions and the catalogue

***Artists should bring any special materials unique to their work; costs for post-processing are the artists' responsibility

Free attendance at lecture courses that overlaps in your duration of stay
Guaranteed invitation and participation as an artist for the 13th H.I.C.F (2026)
You will provided with a signed participation certificate

4. Submission Requirement

Portfolio
- Include:
  - few of your representative work
  - any installation work
  - some small production work example that you can produce and display at the Harmony Shop for sale
Motivation Letter (MAX. 1 A4 page)
Artwork production plan
ACADEMY lecture plan
- After close examination of the plan we will select if you can participate as a lecturer

Option 2:

If selected as a Residency Artist (NO lecture)

Additional fee for outdoor activity
- We provide 50% OFF for residency artists:
  - + 500 USD for tour & wood-firing sessions in Goesan, Mungyeong, Cheongju, Yeoju, and Icheon
  - + 1,000 USD for tour, accommodation, and wood-firing session in Gangjin and Jeju

Assistant

ACADEMY Assistant

We want to invite newly-emerging artists, students, ceramic enthusiasts, and more to JOIN our ACADEMY as an assistant ✨.

You will be given excess to

all MASTERCLASS lecture courses
Materials, tools and workshop facilities to work on your own work and practice new traditional Korean techniques that you will learn from the master-classes

***Artists should bring any special materials unique to their work; costs for post-processing are the artists' responsibility

Other Benefits include:

NO TUITION FEE
You can take your work
Your works will be exhibited and will be included the catalogue
Learn from ceramic masters from Korea and abroad
Build your network
See your work results fired from diverse traditional Korean wood-firing kilns.
You will be provided with a signed participation certificate
Possibility to participate the 13th H.I.C.F (2026) Harmony festival (as assistant)

1. Participation Terms

Assist with academy classes, workshops, and accommodation operations

(meaning: you must work as a staff member during the academy period, helping with setup, cleaning, and other related tasks)

2. Duration

3 months is standard

(but if you are under special circumstances, please reach out)

3. Support

Accommodation and meals are provided, along with a small stipend
NO additional fees for outdoor activities

*** Your airfare is NOT supported.

4. Submission Requirement

Portfolio (some of your representative works)
Motivation letter / CV
- please don't hesitate to note any special skills you may have such as welding, cooking, etc

5. Capacity

2~3 people will be selected as assistants after applications are received.

You will be notified whether you got selected or not.

6. A PLUS POINT

Priority will be given to those who TRANSLATE (KOR-ENG)
