The Harmony ACADEMY Operation
and how to get your Master-class spot

Harmony ACADEMY offers MASTER-CLASSES. We invite a diverse spectrum of ceramicists who are masters of their craft. So each course of the month is guaranteed to be something NEW.

For 2025, we offer

Celadon,

Tea-ware,

large-scale sculpting,

Jeju stone kiln courses.

 

This is your chance to COLLABORATE closely with the masters using their natural clay, recycled tools

and stamp your signatures together for a special piece of work.

The course includes tool making, making your own work as you learn the specific techniques, touring the historical sites, visiting ceramic shops, and so much more!

​1. Duration:

  • 14, 15 days (2 weeks)

    • Week 1: Lectures on production techniques, forming, and demonstration

    • Week 2:

      • 3 days of bisque firing (during that time there will be visits to ceramic shops or ceramic related tours)

      • 3, 4 days of wood kiln firing

 

2. Class Structure:

  • Morning sessions by Korean artists, afternoon sessions by international residency artists

  • Each lecture lasts 3 hours, for 7 days

  • Participants choose one lecture course (discount available for taking both)

  • Free time for personal practice outside of lectures

  • Exhibition and catalogue production included

***Finished works to be shipped at participant's own expense

 

3. Capacity:

30 participants (10~15 per lecture course)

4. Tuition Fee

  • 4,500 USD per person

    • This is a special discounted price for the 2025 Harmony Academy LAUNCHING​ (original price: 5,500 USD)

    • Includes:

      • accommodation (private room), lectures, material fees, and all educational activity costs, and Harmony kit (T-shirt, apron, tool set, tote bag, towel)

      • It does NOT include: outdoor activity, shipment fee of the finished work

  • Additional Costs:

    • Outdoor activity: (you may decide NOT to part take)

      • USD 1,000 (approx. KRW 1,370,000) for tour and wood-firing sessions in Goesan, Mungyeong, Cheongju, Yeoju, and Icheon

      • USD 2,000 (approx. KRW 2,760,000) for accommodation, tour, and firing in Gangjin and Jeju

    • An additional USD 2,000 (approx. KRW 2,760,000) for taking both courses

  • Discount:

    • USD 500 (approx. 680,000 KRW) discount per person if sharing a room (2 people per room) with friends or family

  • Refund Policy:

    • 50% refund if canceled 3 weeks prior

    • No refund for cancellations made within 1 week, but participation in courses held between March and November 2026 will be allowed
